From walking along the city walls, to visiting Minčeta Fortress or Fort Lovrijenac, you’ll quickly gather a real sense of Dubrovnik’s rich history when you go exploring. And if you want some time to put your feet up afterwards, there are a number of beaches in and around the city where you can appreciate the warm sunshine and clear waters.
Dubrovnik isn’t just a city focused on its past, there is a lively nightlife here too. A romantic meal looking out over the sea, clubbing with friends, catching up with family in a cosy local bar – there are lots of options to suit. There’s also a really good mix of architectural styles in Dubrovnik including Baroque and Renaissance. Dubrovnik Cathedral and St. Blaise’s Church are two prime examples of these.
Of course you don’t need to fill your days with sightseeing. Dubrovnik’s Old Town is a brilliant place to spend some time and enjoy the markets, local squares and a bountiful selection of fresh, tasty seafood ranging from seabass to squid.
