Summary
If you’re looking forward to seeing more of Poland on a multi centre holiday, we highly recommend including Warsaw in your trip. It’s the country’s capital and largest city, so there’s something to suit all ages and interests, whether you’re travelling solo or on a big family holiday.
Palaces, castles and museums offer a fascinating glimpse into the city’s past and cultural influences. Some suggestions for your ‘must-see’ list include the 17th-century Wilanów Palace, Royal Castle, Warsaw Rising Museum and the David Bowie mural. There are far too many amazing places to list here, but rest assured, Warsaw has a host of diverse highlights you can explore on your city break.
The city is also home to many great bars, clubs and restaurants where you can sample the local brews and delicious dishes, including pierogi (stuffed dumplings) and Warsaw’s official dessert, Zygmuntówka (a combination of three tempting puddings).
Warsaw also has a small beach on the banks of the Vistula River if you want to grab a picnic and chill out with a nice view of the city skyline. Alternatively, you can walk along the Vistula Boulevards, a picturesque 5km promenade with lots of idyllic spots to stop for a drink or snack.
With such an abundance of attractions and incredible places to visit, you won’t fit them all into your stay in Warsaw. It’s best to do your research before flying out and compiling a list of things you definitely don’t want to miss in this wonderful part of the world.
