Summary
When you book a multi centre holiday to Krakow, you’ll fall in love with Poland’s second-largest city during your stay. With outstanding medieval architecture, a vast, picturesque market square and a charming castle among its many attractions, Krakow will be a highlight of your European adventure.
A great way to kick off your holiday in Krakow is to enjoy a serene cruise along the Vistula River. If you’d rather stay on dry land, there are many footpaths that run alongside it.
For a spot of history, visiting Wawel Royal Castle and Wawel Cathedral is a must. The castle has been on the same site in many different guises over the past 900 years or so and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The views over Krakow and the river are well worth making the trip for before you add in its fascinating story and tales of the Wawel dragon.
Rynek Główny is the city’s huge central square, where you’ll find plenty of cafes, shops, museums, landmark buildings, bars and more. It’s the perfect place to sit with a coffee or cold beer in the summer in between visiting sights such as St. Mary’s Basilica. The square is also host to a charming Christmas market if you’re planning a trip during winter.
There’s a great nightlife scene in Krakow too. If you’ve been up late partying, Planty Park is an idyllic setting to have a gentle stroll surrounded by nature before another fun-packed day seeing the sights, of which there are many more.
