Summary
Taking a trip to Bratislava is a brilliant idea for so many reasons. For starters, it has a wealth of wonderful attractions. Secondly, while it’s a popular European capital city, it doesn’t attract vast numbers of tourists which can make it difficult to get around in peak season, like in some other destinations. This means you can take things at your own pace and have time to fully appreciate everything during your multi centre holiday in Bratislava.
First up on our ‘must-see’ list is the Old Town, known locally as Stare Mesto. You could quite easily spend all your time in Slovakia here because of the charming cobbled streets, historic buildings and places to eat, drink and shop.
Next up is the imposing Bratislava Castle. It’s been overlooking the beautiful Danube River below for centuries, but much of it was most recently rebuilt in the 1950s and 60s. Its grand facade can be seen from all over the city, and we’d recommend visiting during your Slovakian stay.
There are many more fascinating old buildings to explore in Bratislava, but our next recommendation is a more modern one. You can enjoy an amazing meal and views over the city from 95 metres up at the UFO Observation Deck on top of the New Bridge.
If you need a bit of time and space to unwind after all your sightseeing, Horsky Park is the place to go. Grab yourself a drink and have a relaxing meander through the greenery before readying yourself for more of Bratislava’s best attractions.
