Summary
For a brilliant break by the Baltic Sea, you can’t beat a holiday in Stockholm. Sweden’s capital city has over a dozen islands and 50 bridges, with many incredible views and photo opportunities.
One of the things we always recommend to people going to Stockholm is to take a boat trip and appreciate the city’s scenery from the water, including the Old Town area and Royal Palace.
There’s plenty to see and do on dry land during your multi centre break in Stockholm. Other highlights you may want to add to your itinerary include the Vasa Museum - home to the famous Swedish warship, Fotografiska - an incredible photography gallery and the striking presence of Stockholm City Hall, which looks even better at night.
Stockholm’s natural beauty is everywhere you look. Activities include a lakeside sauna, taking in the sunset views at Norr Mälarstrand and enjoying a delicious waterside picnic in Ivar Lo’s Park.
There are plenty of cool and unusual activities in Stockholm, too. For example, you can appreciate the street art at the Snösätra Wall of Fame, a tiny statue of Alfred Nobel and ABBA the museum, to name just a few.
The city also has a chilled-out eating and drinking scene with plenty of brilliant bars, cafes and restaurants. There’s nothing quite like sipping an ice-cold drink with the sun on your face and the water shimmering nearby.
It’s a pleasure to call this Swedish city home, even if it’s only for a short time.
