Summary
Your multi centre holiday to Koh Samui in Thailand will more than live up to its promise. The beaches are undoubtedly among the best anywhere in the world, and when you add in the pretty waterfalls, temples and gardens, it all adds up to a truly terrific break full of new experiences.
The Big Buddha is one of Koh Samui’s biggest attractions in every sense. It’s a 12-metre-tall golden statue that attracts visitors from across the world every year.
Another place on the island where you’ll get exceptional views is the Lamai Overlap Stone. With one large rock perched on top of another, you’ll get a glorious view of Lamai Beach from above and also down the coastline. Getting there on foot isn’t easy, so you might want to take a four-wheel drive vehicle instead.
Back down at sea level, snorkelling in this part of Thailand is suitable for all experience levels. If it’s your first time, there are few better places to build your confidence than the lovely Gulf of Thailand waters. Ang Thong National Marine Park is a spectacular scuba diving destination where you’ll see all kinds of incredible creatures beneath the waves, including angelfish and sea turtles.
Fisherman’s Village in Bophut is another must-visit place on the island. The Friday market is always great fun, with shops, restaurants and live entertainment galore. It’s the perfect place to meet more of the locals and contribute to the economy they rely on.
