The sandstone Agra Fort found upstream from the Taj Mahal is an imposing structure with an interesting past - it was once home to the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. There are other mausoleums in Agra such as the Itmad-ud-Daula or ‘Baby Taj’ and the Tomb of Mariam-uz-Zamani.
Other architectural delights to savour in this part of India include mosques, Hindu & Sikh Temples.
